HuntSafe is a hunter-led initiative focused on improving ethics, accountability, and animal welfare in modern hunting.
🧠Why We Exist
In every hunt, there’s a responsibility: to respect nature and ensure no animal suffers needlessly. When a shot doesn’t go as planned — and a game animal is wounded — it’s the hunter’s duty to follow up. But without the right resources, terrain knowledge, or tracking dog, that can be nearly impossible.
Too often, animals are lost in the forest. It’s frustrating for the hunter — and tragic for the animal.
HuntSafe was created to solve that.
🛠What We Do
We connect hunters with certified tracking teams and trained blood-tracking dogs who specialize in locating wounded game. These teams bring experience, discipline, and the tools needed to give each shot the follow-up it deserves. We also work to build trust between hunters, the public, and authorities by promoting transparent, humane recovery efforts.
📱 How It Works
Right now, HuntSafe offers a growing network of trusted tracking teams across Latvia. Hunters can contact these teams directly to get support after a shot. We’re actively partnering with both hunters and government institutions to formalize these efforts into a national recovery framework.
In the near future, a mobile app will allow hunters to:
- Request a team in real time
- Track recovery progress
- Submit reports
- Improve documentation and legal compliance
Our approach combines hunting tradition, dog-handler expertise, and modern technology — for a better, more responsible future.
“A clean shot is the goal. A fair recovery is the duty. HuntSafe is here for both.”
For Authorities
HuntSafe: A Collaborative Initiative for Ethical Wildlife Recovery and Hunting Transparency
HuntSafe is a developing initiative aimed at improving animal welfare and accountability in hunting by helping hunters recover wounded game through organized search teams with trained tracking dogs. Built by experienced hunters, HuntSafe is designed to work in partnership with local authorities, forestry departments, and wildlife agencies.
Our goal is to strengthen existing frameworks for ethical hunting by making it easier to organize and document recovery efforts — especially in cases where wounded animals might otherwise go untracked. Although our full digital platform is currently under development, we are actively building the HuntSafe network and working closely with search teams, dog handlers, and regulatory stakeholders.
What HuntSafe Offers:
- Organized Search Teams: We are assembling a network of certified tracking teams, many with specialized breeds like the Bavarian Mountain Hound.
- Clear Ethical Framework: HuntSafe is guided by principles of humane recovery, respect for wildlife, and regulatory compliance.
- Partnership-Oriented: We are seeking cooperation with public authorities to define local protocols, access training resources, and align with legal standards.
- Preparedness for Integration: Once launched, the digital platform will enable standardized requests, tracking, and documentation of search efforts.
Why This Matters:
- Improves Animal Welfare by reducing suffering in the field.
- Builds Public Trust in hunting as a responsible, regulated activity.
- Supports Enforcement by providing a transparent system of accountability.
- Promotes Collaboration between hunters, dog teams, and government.
We invite government agencies and regulatory bodies to engage with us during this early phase. By working together now, we can shape a system that meets the needs of both hunters and the public.
